The team at Eastbourne Youth Radio are celebrating after receiving a Global Entrepreneurship Week - High Impact Badge of Honour for 2009. Just 240 out of 4,800 events in the UK received this special status.
The award recognises events that have a 'positive and lasting impact' on the people who attend. Speaking afterwards, Steven Goss-Turner, Chair of Eastbourne EBP, said, "this is a fantastic accolade for everyone involved with EYR. The collaborative nature of the project involves all aspects of entrepreneurial behavior that benefit not only the participants but the wider community too".
EYR celebrates its 10th Anniversary in 2010 and will brodcast again from 17th-19th November. Hundreds of students aged 5-19 will deliver over 50 hours of programmes on 87.7FM and www.eyr.org.uk
Leading the sponsors for the third year is the British Wireless for the Blind Fund. EYR is keen to engage more sponsors who will take an active role in the event. Sponsorship packages start from just £175.
